Heimdal Free is a program that scans your computer for outdated programs and silently updates them so you are using the latest and most secure versions. This allows your computer to be protected from vulnerabilities that are commonly found in older programs.
Using Heimdal is easy. Simply install the program and every 60 minutes the program will scan your computer for outdated programs. If any are found it will automatically update the program for you and then display a small notification when it has finished.
It is also possible to purchase the Pro version of program, which will provide extra layers of defense such as:
- Blocks access to known phishing or malware sites.
- Blocks financial information from being sent to known 3rd part sites.
- Blocks exploit kits and malware from being downloaded on the computer.
- Blocks Internet access for a particular malware process when it detects malicious behavior.
