How to get a word count with Microsoft Office for iPad

A reader asks: 

“How can I see the word count of a document when using Microsoft Office for iPad?”

In the Office for iPad app, open the document you want to see the word count for, and do the following:

• Tap the “Review” tab in the Ribbon.
• Tap the second icon from the left—it has three long lines, three short lines, and “123.”

Tapping this icon will reveal the number of pages, a word count, and the number of characters (with and without spaces).
