The Hidden Tear BruteForcer is a program created by Michael Gillespie that can be used to brute force the password for ransomware infections that are part of the Hidden Tear family of infections. Using an encrypted PNG file, the decryptor can generate the decryption that can then be used to decrypt the rest of your files.
Note: Password to zip file is false-positive.
In order to use this program, an infected use will need an encrypted PNG file. You can typically find encrypted PNG files in the C:\Users\Public\Pictures\Sample Pictures folder. Once you have selected a encrypted PNG file, you will then need to select the ransomware associated with this encrypted files. You can then perform a brute force of the decryption key.
