1. It’s open source
Apple’s decision to make Swift open source has accelerated adoption and development of the language. Swift became one of the top ten most popular programming languages in the world according to the monthly TIOBE index in March 2017. It’s also among the ten top languages as assessed by the PYPL Popularity of Programming Languages tracker.
